We carefully selected each ingredient that goes into Backpack Bars – no fillers or mysterious additives here. Just good, wholesome stuff we’re proud to feed our own dogs. Check out our quality, real-food recipe below.
BROWN RICE
A whole grain rich in fiber and a highly digestible source of carbohydrates, using rice helps ensure our bars sit well in sensitive stomachs.
PEANUT BUTTER
This calorie-dense treat is a four-legged fan favorite, its packed with protein and healthy fat, providing ready energy for adventures.
OATS
A whole grain and good source of vitamins, minerals, fiber and antioxidants.
PUMPKIN
An excellent source of soluble fiber that helps keep dogs regular.
PEA PROTEIN
A sustainable plant-based protein source high in lysine, an essential amino acid that supports the immune system.
FISH OIL
Provides the omega-3s dogs need to maintain healthy skin and coat, and they go crazy for the smell!
WHOLE EGG POWDER
Rich in the amino acids which help build muscle. Easily digestible for most dogs, even many with chicken protein sensitivity are able to tolerate egg proteins.
COCONUT OIL
Another great source of calories and fat that helps keep our bars moist and easy to chew (it also helps reduce the fish oil smell for humans who don’t like it as much as their dogs do).
POTASSIUM SORBATE
A potassium salt used to preserve freshness by preventing mold and bacterial spoilage. It’s one of the most common preservatives in human food and is generally recognized as safe by the FDA and AAFCO.
TOCOPHEROLS
Another name for the natural preservative and antioxidant Vitamin E, used to maintain freshness, so your dog can enjoy the bar you stuffed in your backpack and forgot about 6 months ago.
