Backpack Bars can tide your dog over in a pinch, but they’re not formulated as a complete and balanced food. The bars should be used as a supplement on active days.
Unopened bars will be best within a year. Feed opened bars within a day or two.
Dogs only maintain 1-2% of their body weight in glucose stores, and rely on fatty acids to fuel spikes in activity. We use healthy, energy-dense fats from sources like fish oil (high in Omega-3s), peanut butter, eggs, and coconut oil to meet their increased energy demands on active days.
Use Backpack Bars to fuel up before exercise starts, break off smaller pieces to maintain energy during exercise, or use to refuel after a fun day outside! We like to break them up to use as training treats or nail trim rewards too.
